Well, I just completed the over 400 page book Intimate Nature: The Bond Between Women and Animals, and my review is below. Easily 5 stars and definitely re-readable; a lovely collection of ecofeminist writings - I would say this could be a wonderful start. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Let's just say, I had a LOT to say for such an antiquated read - Animals in Peril: How "Sustainable Use" Is Wiping Out the World's Wildlife by John A. Hoyt (may he rest in peace) is still relevant and enlightening! I gave the text a deserving 5 stars, and would recommend it to anyone interested in truly saving all from a climate chaotic future. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Wow, some of these dresses worn by men are too gorgeous! Love to see it! “There is no beauty in the finest cloth if it makes hunger and unhappiness.”
– Mahatma Ghandi, political leader and activist
“The whole thing of clothes is insane. You can spend a dollar on a jacket in a thrift store, and you can spend a thousand dollar on a jacket in a shop. And if you saw those two jackets walking down the street, you probably wouldn’t know which was which.”
– Helen Mirren, actor
“Fashions fade, style is eternal”
– Yves Saint Laurent, fashion designer
According to data from the Higg Materials Sustainability Index (a leading tool used by the fashion industry to assess material impact), animal-derived materials consistently rank as the most environmentally destructive. Did you know that there is even an official Vegan Fashion Week?
I wanted to share a quick reminder that true glamour is rooted in compassion - the most beautiful thing you can wear is a clear conscious, after all. By supporting the innovative future of fashion and upgrading your wardrobe to exclusively vegan materials (meaning the avoidance of wool, silk feathers, leather, and fur) you directly support amazing new discoveries, including a shift towards plant-based bio materials! You will be a key part in ending the cycle of environmental destruction, which includes everything from "sheep dipping" (just as cruel as it sounds) to the use of toxic chemicals (a process called "tanning") to prevent the decomposition of animal flesh.
By choosing only vegan brands and buying second hand, you are directly investing in a more sustainable, circular economy. Keep reading for help getting started!

I'm now currently reading two fascinating books, both featuring a focus on human and non-human animal connections:Animal City: The Domestication of America by Andrew A. Robichaud is remarkably historically accurate and includes extremely difficult to find elsewhere content (as Robichaud himself states, for a long time animals were so commonplace it wasn't even worth mentioning them at all). I'm only the first chapter in, however I'm already intrigued with the evidently growing carnism* and speciesism* revealed as history is uncovered.
The second book I'm reading is Leaving the Wild: The Unnatural History of Dogs, Cats, Cows, and Horses by Gavin Ehringer. As previous there are definitely carnist and speciesist connotations, yet the author - in what seems to be a contradicting manner - also promotes many values within the animal rights movement while exposing the "humane" industry.

An incredibly underrated read, I have finished reading and rating Bully Nation: How the American Establishment Creates a Bullying Society by the sociologists Charles Derber and Yale Magrass - a book that, despite being a decade old, is arguably only becoming more relevant as times passes. I recommend it be read by everyone due to its radical sincerity yet equal understanding of our current conceptualized society. Please see my full review below, thanks!https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

So sorry for your loss, Cynthia.Bro I'm so flabbergasted.... my doggo Amanda is usually so good, but today my neighbor asked if she could share a little bit of her muffin with her. Well let's just say I learned the hard way that was a bad idea - Bingle (that's her nickname) helped herself to the whole f'ng muffin! 💀
She's going to be in time out now for a while... despite my neighbor literally being so nice, bless her heart. I feel so bad. 😭
I'm beyond pissed off and paranoid of losing my fur family now. fuck trump.https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/22/us...
Currently reading Bully Nation: How the American Establishment Creates a Bullying Society by Charles Derber and Yale R. Magrass. I'm more than a chapter in and enjoying the explanation of why bullying is a systemic issue, not only psychological, and impacts our world far further than we ever realize - this extends all the way to animals and nature, which top corporations of capitalism exploit only to increase the wealth of the elite 1% and meet unnecessary demand. It's so refreshing for an author to actually express and connect these issues within our society, with a large focus on the militaristic "bully nation" known as the U.S.A. Definitely recommend so far. In addition, I'm working my way through Feminist, Queer, Crip by Alison Kaffer. A very relatable yet enlightening reflection of theories and alliances that reinstate the fact that our disability is a political identity, while also affirming the harm of compulsory able-bodiedness or able-mindedness. As of now I would recommend; crip is not a "bad" word!
"And sometimes the anger is working it's magic through simply existing, persisting, unrelenting and unapologetic." - pg. 214I stumbled across Good and Mad by Rebecca Traister at exactly the right time, and I now lay it down reassured of how truly valuable my anger is! Traister expresses the power of women's voices, along with a contemporary discussion of feminist history. I recommend this book be read by any and all women, especially white self-identifying females who may necessitate this primer on intersectionality.
Quite the opposite in fact. The wealthy have the influence and money needed to control the economy, policy, and the media in their favor. Classism intersects with other historically marginalized communities to include racism, sexism, or disability, creating even more discrimination. There is also predatory lending and unequal legal aid, concepts perpetuated by social stigma based on fallacy. In fact, America has the highest wealth disparity compared to any other developed nation!Learn more here-

"These bills are attempting to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. Transgender kids want the opportunity to play sports for the same reasons other kids do: to be a part of a team where they feel like they belong.“Transgender kids deserve the same chances to enjoy sports; to gain confidence, self-respect and leadership skills; and to learn what it means to be part of a team. When we tell transgender girls that they can’t play girls’ sports — or transgender boys that they can’t play boys’ sports — they miss out on these important experiences and opportunities. And we lose the right to say we care about children. I want every transgender kid out there to know that they can live their dreams and be true to who they are. For them to realize those dreams, they need to be allowed to play.”
