It has activities that deal with problem solving, reputation, grooming etc. It is aimed at middle school to high school age kids. I am using it with a group of boys, three with high functioning Aspergers, (and labeled as TAG) one with LD but is on referral for ASD. I will look at the book next time I am in my car and add it to this board.
Michelle Garcia Winner has several good books out for dealing with social groups/ASD. I am using some of her stuff for a social group with kids that aren't necessarily diagnosed as ASD but who benefit from social training.
Joey Pigza!! This young man has ADHD as well as a dysfunctional family. It is a fun read, altho it is also a sad one. It opened up a group of adults I read it with to talk about how ADD/ADHD effects us as well as kids in our life.
I am a speech pathologist in Oregon, who works with k-12 in both public schools and a charter school. My kids abilities range from rather low to a few tag kids. I know I have the worlds best job and my students all know that they can be what ever they want to be when they grow up, yes I may have a future President in my group!
