Now this is a list! Much better than that crazy "best books of all time" list on here that has Twilight and the Book of Mormon in the top 5. Those are the best book of all time???? Seriously??? I am glad more rational minds created this list.

I have read only 17 of the 100 books. Not a very good percentage; but I have read so many other books that I would have on my list of 100 favorites. I would like to add Skeletons at the Feast,Whistling In the Dark,
,
,
,
,
. This would just begin my list. I have read and highly recommend all of the books.
I have read 31 of this books (they count series and trilogies as 1, if not it will be more), I'm currently reading 2 (Les Mis & Chocolate factory), and have 19 others on my TBR list, I agree that this is a more sensible list than other "best" and "worst" lists, but seriously the DaVinci Code!!! that is a horrible, over hype, predictable and boring book.
20 book already read. Looks like a good list to me. However, is it surposed to be the BBC list? The BBC list does not have the Harry Potter box set but the three first books and no William Shakespeare: The Complete Works
WTF is a bible of ANY kind doing on a list like this one? I guess you could count it as a collection of stories, because when it comes right down to brass tacks, that's all the bible is anyway, regardless of what "version" it is.
I noticed this list doesn't match the original one (Harry Potter series was not completed back in 2003, I can't find Germinal on the original list either)Is there a reason why it's different?
It is of course nonsense that BBC thinks that people have only read 6 books on the list - it's a list of popular books. Why would they think that? That myth has been going around in different permutations for a while now.
Hm. I read 53. And there are others that I read bits of. Not sure what that says about me...except I guess that I am an eclectic reader!
As of today, it looks like the list matches the actual BBC one.Being a reader submitted list of favorites, it looks like a great place to start, especially for someone who hated assigned reading in school and wants to go back to all those books I didn't read in school.
I've read 15, I need to speed up my reading a bit. But I want to add more books. There are so many good classics not in the list.
Sandra wrote: "You have the wrong Black Beauty on the list. Should be the one by Anna Sewell"I agree and it has been rectified now.
I've only read 19. I have had chronic fatigue syndrome for 25 years and try to read as much as possible, but it's difficult for me. I am now 45 years old. This list is great.
