"Book that can help some people to make their lives a bit simpler. Some of the principles in this book may seem extreme and just as any book, you do not have to choose between all or nothing, you may apply only the things you deem necessary to your life."

Self Compassion: Stop Beati...

by
4.13 avg rating — 27,812 ratings
"Optional book, for people who beat themselves up a lot, are too hard on themselves. "We are our own worst enemy" is a common saying for a reason. By taking away some of the chains we place on ourselves by being overly critical we can achieve more. Do not misunderstand. Having an inner critic and self discipline is healthy, this book doesnt teach to forget that. It simply teaches to have your inner critic at an appropriate level. "

Games people play: The psyc...

"Relatively short and easy read. Goes over some of the most common "games" people play. Its quite something to see some of these games written down and realizing how often we encounter them in life. It also gives some tips on how to deal with said games, which can be useful. "

How to Win Friends & Influe...

by
4.21 avg rating — 1,193,980 ratings
"Its a great book for anyone, but i think its especially useful for someone like me who tends to avoid conflict. Some of the things in this book helped me make sense of some of my convictions i had formed naturally over my life. For example something i see far too often is, kicking someone else when they are already down (meant metaphorically), in my opinion it just incites hatred in the "loser" which can lead to issues in the future. Specifically it touches on the importance of being a, for the lack of a better word, "pleasant" winner. When you win you dont have to put everyone that came in behind you down, because you cannot always win. "
