"Calling Outback Odyssey a coming-of-age story almost feels too small for what’s actually inside it.

I voted for this book because I wanted to see it recognized in a category where it genuinely belongs, even though Jimmy growing up is only one small part of a much bigger story. I gave Outback Odyssey my vote. Not because “coming of age” defines the book, but because it’s one part of a story that deserves to be discovered well beyond any single category."
