"toicism is introduced via a historical coming of age historical fantasy story. The premise of the book is quite clever: a dragon is the real reason the 300 died at the hot gates. While the title promises a slaying, the ending is concerned with what the slaying costs, which is a classical Greek inquiry that introduces stoic principles and uses them to reach an answer. And it has all the mood and themes and details of good fantasy - moral questions, monsters, magic weapons. :)"
