RE: #1 » I feel like I need to re-read it. I remember it being pretty damn good. There are differences b/w the literary and film executions but I don't know if "better" is the way to go...

RE: #4 » I might come around on this. Kubrick had a special genius shine through on that piece. But it's also one of King's best.

I like Fight Club the book, but the movie came along at an interesting moment in my life and really struck home. The shining is in deed a very good book, but it is a classic film IMO.
