"I love the evolution of Anita Blake. The 1st book I read was Circus of the Damned and it was action packed. Magic, mystery, romance, and the relationships between the characters make this series great. The writing has degraded a bit over time and LKH has a tendency to just toss in an orgy but overall the series is great."
