Annie Ha ha! Cari, WONDERFUL choices! I am especially put off by Twilight, True Love and You...really?????
I hate to say it but I actually read the first Gossip Girls. Before the books were published Beth and Sally were both advance readers and were supposed to fill out a survey card after finishing it. Beth never finished hers. Her words, when I asked why she didn't fill hers out were, "I HATED IT! EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! IT'S ABOUT A BUNCH OF RICH VERY MEAN AND SPOILED GIRLS...I HATED IT!!!" etc., etc. I had to read it out of curiousity. Sadly, the series has been a best seller of ours. Beth and I will never be good at judging what will be the next big thing in popular culture.

That sounds like something I would've said if I tried to read any of the Gossip Girl books! I'm right there with you both: I'll never be able to predict what will be a new big thing, and even less likely I'll understand why. Pop culture makes my brain hurt.

Twilight, True Love, and You...I am morbidly curious about it, to be honest, but too horrified to even accept its existence.
