"What makes this book stand out in my mind is Anne's great fear of bombs; my dad was a US bombardier in WWII & 1 nite his plane was ordered to immediately to drop all bombs. They were over Holland, the pilot flew as far out to sea as possible & then dad let them go. Dad always mourned that bombing of Allies & I think of the innocent children especially.
