Thanks for adding all these books I never heard of before!

My daughters read the early Alice series, which started with her in maybe 4th grade. Now she's graduated from high school and I think the author is doing one last book about her heading off to college.

I am surprised to see there are 24 of them!

I'm not as wild about some of the earliest ones, but the ones dealing with pre-teen and teen angst are pretty well written. Her mother died when she was little so she grew up with her dad and older brother (a slacker juggling multiple relationships). Her dad eventually re-marries to her favorite teacher and so they have to adjust to their new relationship (the most cringe-worthy incident was when she went snooping in their bedroom and had to hide in the closet only to get a ringside seat to them having sex...). In addition to the typical issues like boyfriend drama, she has to adjust to losing a close friend in a car wreck. It may not be great literature, but I got hooked enough to keep following to see what happens next.

Oh, that is rough her having to hide in the closet! If I do try them which one should I start with? It doesn't sound like I would like number 1.

Apparently the 1st 3 are considered prequels. Start with "The Agony of Alice."
