Well, I'm not a big fan of Paulo Coelho. I'll still try other 2 books; The Alchemist & Veronika decides to die in able to give a fair opinion about him.

Well, about The Zahir, I got really bored while reading, I found it dull, no events, just lecturing. The plot was very weak & stupid :D in my humble point of view !

you';re right he does lecture a lot, and he has this direct way of sending the message, so in order to put up with t=his so very direct way he needs to put it in an interesting plot or storyline, apparently he doesn't always succeed... sometimes i feel he's all about "Quotes" not drama or fiction.

read the Alchemist in Arabic, for Bahaa Taher, i think it's gonna be a different expereice than reading it in English; Bahaa Taher has a great writing style, w ya reit teb2y t2olely lama te5alaseha ra2yek eh :D

i have قمر على سمرقند in my hands now :) reading b4 sleep, and in the bus to work.... so far can't make up my mind about it :S wil ltell you once im done how it went isA.
