"It's got a little dash of just about everything, from paranoia, to dead folks (who don't know they're dead), to conspiracy theories to the just plain odd. Something for everyone to be found in here."

"While the collection as a whole is a little uneven, there's enough variety here to please just about any vampire aficionado, whether you like Lumley's blood and guts or Stoker and Rice's genteel monsters. "

"There doesn't seem to be enough humor in the horror these days, and a book that can creep you out and make you laugh at the same time certainly earns points from me."

"Schlocky, silly and yet strangely touching, any book that can actually make you feel sympathy for a child murderer is certainly one that has overachieved (and been sadly overlooked.)"

Scary Stories Treasury

"Yes, it's technically a children's book. But there are some great short tales in here, pulled from urban legends, folklore and in some cases, reality; if you weren't a child in the mid 80s and thus somehow missed this, you need to take a peek. Do yourself a favor and grab the older versions, though; the old illustrations are much more disturbing, and stick with you. The new "sanitized" ones are awful."
