"Most of the books on this list are one's I HAVE read or at least heard of (maybe I'm just not "most people") and many of the titles ARE widely considered classics (after a certain point a list of 100's becomes meaningless, especially when recent authors start adding their own books...ahem). I added WICKED ENCHANTMENT because it is relatively little known nowadays, and also influenced some very well-known indeed books "for children", illustrating both real-world history and history of popular literature. "
