Thomas McGann Don't miss this book. It's Michner's "Hawaii" updated to the new millennial. Mark Panek's "Hawai'i" tells the story of Hawaii as it is today, with all the competing factions pitted against one another, many without any regard for the islands history or culture.
The characters are so clearly defined you'll be looking for them in your local restaurants, ball fields, and high risers.
The story is tightly drawn. There's not a wasted scene. You'll be unable to put this book down until its end, and then you'll sit back and go "Wow!"
