Sal, no offense, but...what are you thinking, my friend? I mean, how will you ever finish your entire To Read Before I Die list? You really should be easier on yourself, and more realistic: "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe is a whole 209 pages long, for God's sake! Even if you only live three score years and ten (17,155 more days, excluding padding for Leap Years), that means you're gonna have to commit to 0.012 pages per day. AND at an average of 250 words per page, that means you will have to read over three words per day just to make your goal, Sal! Three whole words! Now giving you some credit, I would estimate your top reading speed to be about 600 words per minute, BUT IF SO, that would mean you're going to have to spend a whole .05 seconds per day in full-speed reading mode. This is way too much, even for an overachiever like yourself. Five-hundredths of a second is enough time for two countries to have lost out on a Bronze medal. I hate to say it, but at the rate you've set, you're going to wear yourself out. Plain and simple. You should really lower your standards, lest you look back upon your bygone days with bittersweet remorse.
