Geoff Miller So you've written these 7 books and rated them all as 5 stars yourself and even written the reviews youself. Are you even supposed to do that?

Clare O'Beara Hi Geoff,

You are certainly supposed to write books, and you are at liberty to rate and review them yourself, as Goodreads marks this as 'review by the author'.
When this list was started by someone, at the time Goodreads allowed authors to nominate their own books.
This rule was later changed, and apparently a few authors created sockpuppet accounts to add their own books to lists and provide ratings. I didn't.
Hope this answers your question.
