One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, #1)
by
"The whole Stephanie Plum series is a hoot. I recommend them all, but be careful about drinking any liquid while reading. You're likely to spray or snort it!"

La Symphonie pastorale
by
"I read this book in French. I haven't been able to find it in English. The title is a play on words, the pastoral symphony could refer to music, or one of the main characters, who is a pastor. The really special part of this book is when the pastor tries to explain colors to the blind girl by relating each color to the instruments in a symphony orchestra.

The Clan of the Cave Bear, the Valley of Horses, the Mammoth Hunters, the Plains of Passage, The Shelters of Stone (Earth's Children, #1-5)
by
"Jean Auel has done such thorough research for each of these novels. The one that stuck with me the most was the Valley of Horses. The main character is stuck alone in a valley and much figure out how to survive. The thing to understand about Jean Auel's books is that they are set at the dawn of homo sapiens.
