lol my second favorite book ever man. ahhh! what don't you like about it? Only negative I have for the book is that Bigger Thomas is super-nervous and googly-eyed "coonish" around white folks, no spine in his back, but that's the POINT! A lot of black people 1940 and prior were timid, paranoid, unsafe feeling people in this bleached out snow-white society of America.

if i were white and having second thoughts about the Spook i just lynched then read this, it would put my concerns to bed.

a,what are some of the other worst books you've ever read. lol, and, at least if you don't dig Native Son, reach out for Wright's other works. The Outsider, Savage Holiday, and Lawd Today are superb reads.

i liked Black Boy. i'm in no hurry to read more Wright.
