The Way of Kings (The Stormlight Archive, #1)
by
"Epic opener in what could go on to be the best epic fantasy series out there. At 1200 pages it is truly massive in both scale and depth, you will be immersed in a world built with Tolkien level dedication (don't worry its no where near as dry).

Seriously, the depth of world and cultures and characters and just about everything else you can think of is staggering. Add to all that a tight plot, great pacing and fantastic execution.... need i say more! " See Review |

Blood Song (Raven's Shadow, #1)
by
"This series petered out in my opinion, but Blood Song was one hell of a opener. There is only on POV in this 600 page book, which means you really get into the protagonists head, for me i'd characterize this as a 'coming of age fantasy' that avoids all the negative connotations that tend to come with that these days. its a journey through the life of a living legend and i seriously LOVE this book."

Malice (The Faithful and the Fallen, #1)
by
"Old fashion fantasy executed immaculately, Malice does not break new ground but damn... it does the old stuff well!

Though i feel i'm doing the series as a whole somewhat of a disservice there, there are plenty of interesting ideas and a great background to the world, it simply has many classic fantasy tropes. However this series REALLY grows into something spectacular! and smashes those tropes to pieces on a few occasions. Basically this is a great opening to a series in which so far each book is better than the last, and has grown into possibly the most enjoyable fantasy series of recent years. P.S. I really CAN'T believe how low the awareness of this series seems to be! And the quality is truly up there with the best. Frankly if you love fantasy you will love this series, as simple as that." The Black Prism (Lightbringer, #1)
by
"Great opening book that builds and promises much. Vast improvement on Weeks' previous series. Starts slow but builds nicely to a conclusion that has you immediately hopping onto amazon to buy the next installment, however the real stand out part of this book is the magic system, which i wont ruin but WOW, it really catches the imagination and truly influences the world around it."
