Who Are You, Again? - The Complete Edition

"Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Lisa
rated it 5 stars
Georges Elchakieh from el-live Productions asked me to freelance as a writer for the company's SEO marketing, whilst I was performing. Emotionally I was a wreck in a stupid, stupid, stupid long-distance relationship. The job was to write objectively using keywords like singer, songwriter, tour and music. I wrote 130 articles...clearly I had a lot to say! It kept me sane writing. I stopped thinking about the stupid ex, who was miles away (like c'mon get a grip) and focussed on positive energy - life's too short, you know. So many people ask me about my career as a musician and songwriter. There's a fascination about it. And the books I read about music have ridiculous fast-track to fame steps to multi-platinum albums that don't exist. I think musicians and audiences need to have a real-deal insight. By the time I had finished writing everything, I decided to add the highs and lows of my journey, giving it a personal touch. Something inside said share, share, share! You have to know that being a musician really is like being a rocket scientist crossed with a SuperHero! We create the music you go nuts for...that's magic!" See Review |

"What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Lisa
rated it 5 stars
I'm a singer-songwriter really! But writing this book helped me turn my life around. I am here to inspire people, to help make a difference. Trust me there are days I want to just walk away from it all. But something inside says "Lis, you've gotta do this". The book has allowed me to share in-depth, nitty-gritty and crazy bits of advice for other musicians and even for audiences to understand our roadtrip :>" See Review |

"How do you deal with writer’s block?
Lisa
rated it 5 stars
Editing the last leg of the book was when I hit writer's block. It was the hesitation of being completely honest with my readers and musicians. That moment of pause to explain what I had been through, how dark the moments of 2015 have been and almost regretting the risk I took coming back to South Africa to crack this industry. It has taken longer to make it here than any territory I've known in all facets of my career. There have been months where I had little or no work and people that hated the fact I don't sing kwaito music...AND I had to turn my life around full circle. It's the courage to be truthful; in all its ugly glory and then how you transform all of that into something great. It's called not giving up and saying f*ck it #ICanDoAnything :>" See Review |
