It's typical Neal Stephenson in that he suddenly realizes he has to wrap things up at some point, but it's (to my mind) one of the classic cyberpunk/dystopian sci-fi novels."

"I really enjoyed the fact that, while completely futuristic, this book ignores many of the standard tropes of dystopian technology and instead focuses on nano tech and the reorganization of society. It ignores the standard virtual reality and future computing visions of most dystopian books and goes off in a different, but fascinating, direction.

Like all Neal Stephenson books, he does veer off and go nuts at the end, but that's under the definition of "Neal Stephenson", so whatever."
