Larou Yeah, I thought him having been a chum and clearly influenced by Arno Schmidt should be right up your alley. Also the novel is well worth reading, even unfinished as it is.
And talking about having been influenced by Arno Schmid, I just thought of something else to add...

It would appear to almost not exist! Sweet. [par for the course with gr and german books it seems.]

Larou That's one nifty thing about the US: with such a huge popoulation, the readership even of fringe authors reaches some pretty solid numbers, while in smaller countries any authors not on the bestseller lists have only a handful of readers.
And Hilbig and Kurzeck (who I personally think are the two best writers in the German language of the past five decades or so) were not particularly well-known even among readers of literary fiction even when they were alive, so everything considered it is almost a surprise they show up on GR at all. ;)
