They try to live as locals and learn the ways and language of the French. They take a transatlantic cruise to Portugal and Spain, and then travel throughout France (Provence, French Riviera, and live a month in Paris). They dodge pickpockets, climb mountains, descend into the Paris Metro, endure nasty weather and illness, and witness the flood of the century. Very fun read, educational, and inspiring! Makes you feel like you are right there on the journey, and makes you laugh out loud. Short sections in chapters and many illustrations make it a great book to read while traveling."
