I was so BORED I couldn't finish Angels and Demons - I wasn't even curious about the ending. For that type of book, that's BAD.

He came up trumps - there really is a WTF moment right at the end, it has to do with flying and a square of parachute silk. Enormously unbelievable.
Totally agree with both of you. It took me months to finish this. The ending was ... how shall I put it... an insult to every reader of average intelligence. Needless to say, I shall never pick up a Dan Brown novel ever again.

Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons are the only books by Brown I have ever read. The Da Vinci Code was not too bad, but by the time you read a second book of his, you discover how formulaic they are. In turn this affected my opinion of the Da Vinci Code. I think what made me dislike Angels even more, was the quite unbelievable plot (esp. the end). Oh, and i find his characters bland to the extreme - let alone his anachronism and obvious factual errors. GRRRR:-)
