"Because the history is so accurate, it's so epic and tragic and heartbreaking, because it has a strong as hell female lead and leading man, and because it's WAY ahead of it's day and honest and relateable. "

"Because it is super romantic but does not take itself seriously. Because it's written in such a way that you feel like you could be being told a bedtime story and you get first person text from so many different characters and because it's charming and an adventure. "

"Because Sendak writes the most miniscule amount of words but manages to create a whole world without creating really anything. It allows a conversation to be started and imagination to be stimulated between adult and child with some prompting from the pictures. And overall it is just charming and makes being told off a good thing, it says children if you do something wrong it's not so bad as long as you use it for good ultimately. Be the leaders of the world by using your imaginations, creativity, and authority to do well for the world."
