Haha - I loved this book! Just a fun mindless read for me :-) Sometimes I need that. Why'd you hate it so much?

I am all for mindless reads...but I think my problem with this book was that I saw the movie first and LOVED it. And then the book just wasn't as good as the movie.The relationship between the 2 guys wasn't as fleshed out in the book as it was in the movie. In the book you find out right away that the Daniel slept with Mark's wife so there is no mystery about why Mark hates him like there is in the movie. And the mother's situation was so much more interesting in the movie with her lover and then she gets back together with the dad in the movie, but not in the book...lots of little details, plus there is the whole tie in with the A&E Pride and Prejudice Mark Darcy/Colin Firth...he is such a good, bumbling romantic lead in both...
I think one other problem I had was that I am 40 with kids instead of 30 and single...I thought she was just being stupid a lot of the time...
...not to over analyze it at all :)
