"Thorough treatise on economics as a HUMAN science for individuals - not a mathematical, separate, dry set of ideas. ONe of the top 10 books in all economics and second only to Mises' Human Action in covering all of economics in one book the best."

Six Political Illusions: A ...

"Great little book that gets at the essence of misconceptions of government. One really does not understand government, if one cannot deal with these illusions! So simple, yet so hard to escape all the pervasive teaching and propaganda that make this book important."

The Road to Serfdom

by
4.15 avg rating — 25,865 ratings
"Classic, scholarly, yet polemic, book on capitalism vs. socialism. Excellent historical and analytical analysis. PUt Hayek in the forefront of defending freedom and capitalism. Don't miss this if you are uncertain why Fascism is part and parcelanti-capitalist. The reason why Nazism (National Socialism) is really socialist is explained very well and drives the left bonkers!!!"

Parenting With Love and Logic

"If you are a parent, you HAVE to read this book - unless parenting just comes naturally easy to you and you get these ideas other places. For me it is one of the life (and sanity) preservers of parenthood."

"Again, this is also a book mostly for parents. What are the most important things to pass down to our kids. What do we wnat them to know about us - the most important things to us? Poignant, touching, courageous, timeless - some of the words that come to mind for this book."

"Fantastic statement of what true liberalism really is (or at least was) before the name was appropriated by the statist left. The ideals and truths stated here are worth basing one's life mission on - I have."

Planning for Freedom

by
4.34 avg rating — 119 ratings
"This book opened a whole new world for me. I had heard of Mises before I read this, and Hayek and Rand and other defenders of freedom. But this book, read in a white heat in the Owen D. Young library at St. Lawrence University my Sophomore or Junior year opened my eyes so bright to all the possibilities of the future and lies, deceits, dull coverups of my past education, that I will never forget it. Thank you Drew Silva for patiently sharing your love of Mises with me."

Socialism: An Economic and ...

by
4.32 avg rating — 1,399 ratings
"My favorite book by Mises. Planning for Freedom is too short and not detailed enough. Human Action is too philosophical and technical. This book hit just the right cord with me. The history is superb. The Analysis is unbeatable. There is not a variant of the socialist idea that Mises does not destroy, after carefully stating the protagonist's proposition case. This is the book that turned Hayek from Social democrat (after studying under Wieser) to a pro-capitalist and pro-freedom advocate."
