Moby Dick is well worth giving another go - but it does take a long time to get going. My vote would go to Ulysses - try reading up on it beforehand.

No can do Tobias, my little brain struggled from the off with both Moby Dick and Ulysses. You're the only person I know (in the real, non cyber world)) who has finished and enjoyed Ulysses. It's impenetrable and I am of the opinion that people just pretend to like it to look clever!! But that's just intellectual sour grapes on my part! Try Ali Smith the Accidental; it will make you want to hack off your index finger with a blunt axe after three chapters!
