I've read Deathly Hallows already also, but after seeing the movie I really am excited to reread it.

The book it better than the movie, in my opinion. Even though I felt, after reading the 5th book and so, that the plot is going on the same trail, did you noticed that? I mean, Harry goes to school, plays, loves, then there is an event to rock the world, fight with Voldemort, win, glory, back to black (uncle&aunt..). But it is very good, anyway. So good I am almost jelous of reading it

The books are definitely better, as much as I do enjoy the movies.

Assuming you have read all of "The Earth's Children" series, could you tell me how good it is, in your honest opinion which I really respect? I have tried to read the first chapter of it online, and it was so teriffic. I remember watching the movie with Deryl Hannah, and liking it. But I assumed the book would be better. What do you say? Is the rest of the series as good as the first chapter of the first book "the clan of the cave bear"? I know it is not fair to compare a whole series with one chaper, so just please answer: is the book good/okay/bad/unusual/amazing/wow!/really great?

I love the series! The only disappointing thing was how long we had to wait in between each book. I highly recommend them. Jean Auel really did her research! That is how the world was then....the caves, plants, animals....sure, the people didn't exist, but the world her characters live in is not made up or "created". She really did a great job! :)

I belive she meant that the characters were fictional.

Kathy, I have download the first chapter of "The Clan of The Cave Bear", because I want to read it before I buy the whole book. Is this the opening paragraph-

"The naked child ran out of the hide-covered lean-to toward the rocky beach at the bend in

Well, have you read the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris? I love those! The first is Dead Until Dawn. Great series! And I see you have Jodi Picoult's Sing You Home on your TBR pile...that is a really good one, too. :)
