The Book Thief

"I have seen about a million adults purchase this YA title. So many people are interested in reading it, and while the subject matter is very serious, the book itself is very readable."

"Lots of buzz, of course, and a generally helpful little book... but (and this is important) not insulting to the recipient."

Nicholas
by
"A gorgeously designed book that just LOOKS special and like you should give it to someone as a gift. I always think short stories or collections make good gifts, plus the Nicholas series can really be read in any order, and it's so danged entertaining I encourage parents to read it WITH their because I know they'll enjoy it too. A particularly perfect gift for the 5-11 year old boy you don't know what to buy for, or that want the next miracle nonexistent Wimpy Kid book."
