I have read Harry Potter many times, but I would be interested in a discussion of it, anyway. There are lots of things I am curious about in terms of it. Why did it grab the attention of such a huge audience when similar books before it did not? Is the literary criticism of it valid? How has it fared with audiences many years and many competing books later? And a personal question of mine: how does the book work in translation to other languages, other cultures?

I agree with Laura, I think it could make for an interesting discussions! Particularly when it comes to Book v Movie and the pre-movie fans versus the post-movie fans...it could get a bit heated, if past encounters are anything to go by! :)
