Sorry to all who got the invite for the Caldecott list. My mistake...

Jen Ferry Again, it's hard to choose just one. I don't think my top picks will win the big one anyway. I was not in love with BGD or FR. I think I'm thinking about what may students will be drawn to. Over the last 4 years they've been drawn to Ivan the most.

message 3: by Benji (new)

Benji Martin I agree, my students have been checking out Ivan very frequently in the last few years. They like Flora too, though. Out of this year's contenders, the most popular among my students are the Fourteenth Goldfish, El Deafo and Crossover.

message 4: by Paula (new)

Paula I agree it's hard to choose just one. The Fourteenth Goldfish has been very poopular. I really loved Revolution, but it needs some pushing.

Alpha Selene I thought I could vote until the end of the today. I would have voted for Brown Girl Dreaming.

Oh sorry! You will be happy to know that Brown Girl Dreaming won by a landslide.

Mary HD The Crossover is my favorite, though I think it is Printz-eligible as well.

Brown Girl Dreaming was wonderful (and is the probable winner). The Family Romanov was terrific, but in my opinion belongs in the Printz basket.

Loved El Deafo! I'm really enjoying Madman of Piney Woods, liked Half a Chance, Nest and the Night Gardener and really liked Rain Reign.

Thought West of the Moon was kind of clunky (but wouldn't be surprised if it won something...)

Disliked A Snicker of Magic, and will be very disappointed if The Fourteenth Goldfish wins anything

and didn't get to the rest, darn it!
