I just wanted to say thanks for all the work being done to make this group so fun! I eagerly anticipate every new poll and read. It's been so great having this group!

This is a great selection. I have read (and enjoyed) The Automatic Detective. All of the rest are either on my tbr list or ought to be.
Well, looks like The Last Policemen will probably take it in which case I will not be participating because I have a phobia of asteroids lol.

Really? The summary says:
"What’s the point in solving murders if we’re all going to die soon, anyway?
Detective Hank Palace has faced this question ever since asteroid 2011GV1 hovered into view. There’s no chance left. No hope. Just six precious months until impact."
Sarah Anne wrote: "Yep, it's a trilogy and the asteroid doesn't hit until the third."Yeah, but it's still the end of the world, people are giving up, not going to their jobs, waiting to die. I can't handle that. It's not just the moment of impact of an asteroid that freaks me out, lol. If anything, the anticipation is worse.
I've read The Last Policeman and really enjoyed it, it's funny and smart and different. But because I've read it, I'm hoping The Automatic Detective wins the poll : )
The automatic detective is on the tail of the last policeman. A Dark Tower-like opening that describes the poll so far.
Anna wrote: "The Quantum Thief is already on the group bookshelf."Ah I see, thanks :) would love to re-read it.
