Uh, technically, I only read Castell. I loved his book till about half way through before it went down for me, and there's a definite dark vibe in it, but not sure if it classifes as pure GD.

It's always nice to converse with the author of a book, makes me feel important. I have the other 2 books on my to read list but yours sounds a wee bit different. Worth a nosey

De Castell that is!

I enjoyed Traitor's Blade & the rest of the Greatcoats series. Not sure if it's truly GD, I thought it was closer to heroic fantasy, Gemmell's Quest For Lost Heroes meets The Three Musketeers. De Castell is writing another series now but says he will return to Greatcoats in the future, looking forward to it
