Bev Nye Shouting at the Rain

message 2: by Louie (new)

Louie Wait, didn't we read Shouting At The Rain in July?

message 3: by Kate (new)

Kate Lalani of the Distant Sea by Erin Entrada Kelly

Ernesto Cisneros All these books are amazing... but for me, OPERATION FROG EFFECT (Operation Frog Effect by Sarah Scheerger) is the only choice. It's about kids rallying together to make a change in the community and is told in 8 different POV's--each nailed perfectly. I'm in awe of the writing. Probably the best MG in the last 10 years.

Marcie Other Words for Home by Jasmine Warga? Not sure how to add a write in.

message 6: by Shella (new)

Shella Is this poll going to be reposted without Shouting Out the Rain since we already read this in the summer?

message 7: by Shari (Shira) (new)

Shari (Shira) How about OTHER WORDS FOR HOME?

Ack, you are right! I removed Shouting at the Rain
Thank you for pointing it out. If you voted for shouting at the rain, it should clear your vote and you can vote again. Let me know if it doesn't work.

I added Other Words for Home in place of shouting at the rain since it has been requested.

message 10: by Luke (new)

Luke Quaranta I like the list this month.

message 11: by Mary HD (new)

Mary HD I never vote for books I have already read, but if I did, I would have voted for the excellent A PLACE TO BELONG!

message 12: by Shella (new)

Shella Mary - why don't you vote for books you have already read if you like them? I agree- this is a list to be excited about!!

message 13: by Mary HD (new)

Mary HD I participate in this list for the gentle nudge it provides to keep up with the best-reviewed books of the year - and I don't need a push to read books I have already gotten to...I voted for EVENTOWN and will finally get to THE FROG EFFECT, a popular book in my library. (I am always interested in the "favorite" titles of other readers.)

message 14: by Shella (new)

Shella That makes sense! This group has helped me expand my choices too.

message 15: by Mary (new)

Mary Lalani of the Distant Sea by Erin Entrada Kelly

message 16: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Nagel My favorite book so far this year is The Line Tender

message 17: by Kate (new)

Kate The Line Tender was our August read.

message 18: by Kari (new)

Kari What about The Miraculous by Jess Redman? I don’t remember seeing that on the lists?

message 19: by Luke (new)

Luke Quaranta The Story That Cannot Be Told by J Jasper Kramer was excellent.

message 20: by Robert (new)

Robert Shouting At the Rain

message 21: by Pam (new)

Pam So many great choices! Thanks for always offering these options.

message 22: by Tracy (last edited Oct 30, 2019 02:32PM) (new)

Tracy Detz Song for a Whale by Lynne Kelly would be a wonderful book to read! Working with individuals with disabilities, I am always inspired by their beautiful hearts and amazing creative ways.

message 23: by Shaye (new)

Shaye Miller Luke wrote: "The Story That Cannot Be Told by J Jasper Kramer was excellent."

AGREE!! So very wonderful and not only for middle grade readers!

message 24: by Shella (new)

Shella I added this book to my list- none of my local libraries have it yet. Sounds amazing!!

message 25: by Kate (new)

Kate I think Song for a Whale was our June read

message 26: by Elisa (new)

Elisa Waingort I usually vote in the books, but never hear what book was actually chosen. Can someone advise? TY!
