Lynn The surprise Moderator's pick this month is The Winds of War (Henry Family #1) by Herman Wouk 898 pages published in 1971. This book tells the saga of a family during World War II.

George P. Some good nominees here- I've only read A Prayer for Owen Meany of these. I enjoyed Wouk's The Caine Mutiny. I'll be starting War and Peace in Jan though, so I'm going to abstain from voting or reading the winner this quarter.

There are several on the list that I would be happy to read. You are right that it is a good list. Enjoy War and Peace.

Bron I loved Wouk's The Winds of War. I read it so long ago and would love to read it again but I have never read A Prayer for Owen Meany and it has been on my TBR list for so long.

Lynn So far The Divine Comedy seems to have the most support. I remember we discussed the Comedy in respect to Oscar Wilde's writing and there was a good bit of enthusiasm about it then.

Lynn Midday on November 30th, it seems that The Divine Comedy has an unsurmountable lead. I hope you all join the discussion when we read this book January - March 2020.

George P. Kind of funny that the winner of the Long Read is 500 years older than the winner of the Old School book.
