"Expect the fastball; but be prepared for the curve" rolls off the tongue a little nicer.

Expect the Fastball: But be prepared to hit the curve and Never Let the Fear of Striking Out Hold You Back sound like nonfiction book titles to me. I like The Crack of the Bat because it has the baseball metaphor but hints at how sudden and shocking death can be. Best of luck! :)
I’m loving, the crack of the bat, worried about the word “crack” though and how it will be interpreted
I think The Curveball or Curveball is good too! I am so excited for your new book!! Cant wait to see what you title it as well as read it!

Trying to think of the moments that matter most in a baseball game and although not a choice ‘Bottom of the Ninth’ feels the most appropriate. Of the choices listed, less is more so Curveball makes the most sense and also has the life analogy.
