I briefly considered voting for The Moonstone Pub. a book I hadn't heard of before. Sounded interesting but I soon saw the error of my ways.

J_BlueFlower wrote: ""The Moonstone Pub".... What kind of book would that be?"A story about the people who hang out in the local pub in the British town of Moonstone?
Ladies night would be half price drinks to any women wearing white?
Instead of a pub "where everyone knows your name" it would be a pub where 'everyone has no name?'
Actually, the Moonstone was a popular pub in Liverpool England in the 60's and 70's, but that was the 1960s rather than the 1860s.
As I really did momentarily see the book choice as The Moonstone Pub even though I have read The Moonstone, it's probably most appropriate for me to vote for the Dostoyevsky selection.
Oh the author's name is not on The Moonstone. That does make the entry look strange. I will fix it in the morning..on my phone now.
J_BlueFlower wrote: "No need for fixing. The link works and we are just having fun ;-)"Yes, just having fun :). But the poor Moonstone novel currently resides in last place so maybe it needs something to change its luck.
The Moonstone has now risen from 7th place to a tie for 6th place so the name clarification did change its luck a bit. Mr. Collins' descendants must be relieved that the title is no longer languishing alone in last place.EDIT: THE MOONSTONE has now risen all the way to 4th place. I attribute this rise to the votes of teetotalers who now feel free to vote for it.

on sale for $7.73, a price claimed to be 61% off. Editions with that cover but other publication dates are pricier, as are other publishers' editions.
