Just want to remind people that in November, we will also be reading the last book of the Dragonriders of Pern trilogy, The White Dragon by Anne McCaffrey.
I am going to change my vote because I have already read Uprooted, and I am like Joanna, having tried and failed to read Cryptonomicon at least twice. So, since it is obvious Inferno will never win, I will choose Ilium
Hey, Kim Gauthier. I believe that inferno will never win since I have nominated it at least three times and it never comes close. Do you want to read it with me sometime? I see that you are the only other person who voted for it.

I would like to try Neal Stephenson, but I already own Anathem, Seveneves, and Reamde so I don't want to start with one I don't yet have. Would happily vote up Anathem, I think the group has read Seveneves already (or is it the other way around?).

He is one of love/hate authors, so yes, definitely try before getting more by him

I haven't read The Speed of Dark, but I enjoyed a lot reading Remnant Population by the same author. However, it seems Uprooted will win and I'll gladly re-read it
