I voted for the Catcher in the Rye since it's considered a classic!

Aha! I see it now. Vote for For Whom the Bell Tolls, Kelly. What better excuse could you possibly have to read it?

I voted for "I know why the Caged Bird Sings." I've always wanted to read this, so maybe, if it is chosen, I will finally do so.

Voted for "In Cold Blood" because I've been wanting to read this since seeing "Capote." Although, if I had a second choice, I would say "Naked Lunch."
Can we defer Catcher in the Rye to a differant time than this December?..Not Salingers fault, But i dont wish to be reading that book around the 30th anniversary of John Lennons death. On the other hand that could add to the banned book discussions, though we wouldnt restrict other persons address to the book, I know people who have never been able to look at "catcher" since 1980....
I picked the Color Purple because I've always wanted to read it and I already read Catcher in the Rye and "For Whom the Bell Tolls" had to few votes though I also kinda want to read that too!

I don't think I could stomach reading "The Catcher in the Rye" in December, either.
