I've stuck with my original vote for The Sense of an Ending. If I was going with first lines and synopsis I'd choose Jamrach's menagerie but it has some pretty bad reviews (including one from Kerry). Some of the reviews for The Sense of an Ending make it round like a really well written book and I've heard great things about Julian Barnes. The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes Julian Barnes

I've voted for Jamrach's Menagerie again as I've heard good things about it.

Both sound like a good read but I think Jamrach's Menagerie is more 'me'. Had to opt for this one.

Kerry Bridges Yes sorry folks, I really thought I would love it (it's just my sort of book) but for me it really didn't live up to it's promise. If it does turn out to the book of the month, I'd be really interested to see what people think.
