“When the problems of the world seem too huge to handle, I think of the classic starfish story: an old man sees a young boy throwing starfish back into the sea from a beach where tens of thousands of them lie. The man looks at the boy and tells him he won’t be able to make a difference. The boy picks up another starfish, looks at the man and throws it back into the ocean. ‘It sure made a difference to that one,’ he says.”
