“You have enough money, yeah?” he asked in a hushed tone while my mom tried to give Vivi a bottle. She was over-stimulated, and a little nap wouldn’t do her any harm. “Because if you need-”
“I’m fine,” I cut him off. I tried not to sound irritated, but he must’ve picked up on it from my expression.
“Ok,” He frowned. “But if you did need some money, you know you can ask me. Ok?”
“Isaac,” I shook my head. “I’ve got this.”
He raised one eyebrow.
I had to laugh. “First Leigh, now you. Do I look like a pauper?”
He shrugged. “I’ve seen you in that exact outfit more times than I care to remember, and your nails are raggedy. When last have you had a manicure? Your nails were always on point before.”
