“In the workplace I had a perspective that universally everyone should be respected equally. Respectfulness should be a core tenet; it is not an option. It should be in the fabric of everything we do,” she told me. “Treat everybody like you would like to be treated. Everybody wants to be treated with respect; it doesn't matter what their background is. You want everybody to be treated with respect.” To instill a culture of respect in the workplace, whether it's a multinational corporation like PepsiCo or a fledgling startup, the leaders have to model a respectful behavior.”
