Even though he professed to be a Christian, he deferred his baptism until just before the day of his death under the delusion that the waters of baptism purged the sins of the soul. Apparently he wanted to have his sins all in before receiving baptism.     The reign of Constantine did more to damage and destroy the Christian Church from within than any persecution ever did from without.”
