“But my absolute favorite part of it is after I finish, so I can wait there to encourage people to keep pushing to the end. By the time I’m finished all the fast people are already passed, so it’s good to be able to cheer on those who really need that encouragement to finish. It’s a great feeling when you acknowledge someone and they just brighten up and pick up their pace. That cheering at the end makes such a difference for the runners, you see it in the smiles on everybody’s face. I love to be a part of that. It’s just a tremendously inspiring race.”
