Lifting my gaze to look into those captivating blue eyes, I spoke clearly. “All I know for sure is that when I first met you, I felt my heart beat again. That hasn’t happened in a very long time. I was almost convinced I no longer had one.” I felt her hand slide down to my heart where the pounding grew more insistent. “You did that for me, angel. It’s way too late for me to step away from this.”
