“Fear-based, angry churches become defensive. There is a need to defend their turf. A territorial mindset takes over. You will start to hear phrases like “stealing sheep” in reference to people going to different churches. Stealing sheep? Are you kidding me? They are not your sheep. People belong to Jesus, and if He wants to move His sheep around to different pastures so they can grow and be used in new ways, then that is His business. One of the worst things a church could ever do is attempt to hold onto someone that God is leading away. It is cruel, confusing and crippling.”
