Yes, lol. I've read the original Conan Doyle. Thank you for the recommendations. Which one is your favorite?
Had to ask. I definitely nominate 'The Seven-Percent Solution' by Nicholas Meyer. Its a wonderful reading experience. Plus, Meyer not only conceived and wrote the novel; he directed the movie. That hardly EVER happens in Hollywood. Then later, he conceived, wrote, and directed 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan' which basically saved that franchise. He's fantastic.
As far as the other 'gaslight' mysteries in that discussion, I very much dig Wilkie Collins ('The Moonstone') and also..umm, I suppose Sax Rohmer's 'Fu Manchu'. But there's enough mystery stories from that era to satisfy anyone's tastes, for sure.
Great, thanks. I think I'll start with 'The Seven-Percent Solution'. The premise sounds intriguing. Plus, I'm very interested to see where Freud comes into the mix. Thank you for your suggestions. :)
